Treework Flooring chosen for the Granary - 15 Jul 2002
The Granary is a well known landmark in Bristol. Built in 1869 the ten storey building has an astonishing facade made of different coloured bricks - its style has been described as 'extravagant Venetian Byzantine'.
The interior has been largely empty and derelict for a number of years but it is now being developed into thirteen luxury apartments.
Most of the flooring will be Oak and Treework Flooring have been chosen to supply, fit and finish this.
The developers wanted the Oak floor to reflect the traditional feel of the building and Treework are achieving this by a combination of specialised machining of the boards, hand planing and sanding once the boards have been installed and applying a hard wax oil finish.
The show flat has been completed and the project is scheduled to be finished by December.
